Rent Thule Velo Compact

The Velo Compact is of interest when three bikes travel regularly and a fourth occasionally.

The fourth bike slot can be added during booking for an extra €10.

Each of the three standard wheel rails supports up to 25 kg; the optional fourth rail supports up to 15 kg. The maximum total payload is 60 kg. The limit for the standard rails is therefore lower than the 30 kg supported by the EasyFold XT 3 and Epos.

The VeloCompact has three wheel rails and a maximum total payload of 60 kg. Each rail supports a bike weighing up to 25 kg. The optional extension adds a fourth rail for a bike weighing up to 15 kg. The total payload remains limited to 60 kg with the extension fitted. Your vehicle’s and tow hitch’s permitted tow-ball load must accommodate the carrier and bikes.

The maximum wheelbase is 1250 mm.

E-bikes are possible in principle as long as the individual weight and the total payload are observed. With several heavy e-bikes in particular, the weight limits need close attention.

The most important difference is the option to expand to four bikes.

The EasyFold XT 3 and the Epos, by contrast, allow up to 30 kg per bike but are not designed for four bike slots.

The Velo Compact is therefore of particular interest when the number of bikes matters more than the maximum load of each individual slot.
