We are away from 3 to 18 October. You can book online even if your trip falls during our closure. Pickup takes place before we are away, and return takes place afterwards. We only charge for your booked travel period. Any extra days resulting from earlier pickup or later return because we are away are not charged. We rent Dometic compressor cool boxes in two sizes: 25 L and 35 L. Pickup in Darmstadt, Steinstraße 16. We briefly walk you through the handling — the boxes are otherwise self-explanatory.
Why a compressor cool box and not thermoelectric?
- Compressor: cools independent of the outside temperature, down to –22 °C. Even in summer at 40 °C your beer stays cold. Far more energy-efficient in continuous operation.
- Thermoelectric (cheaper rental category): cools only relative to outside temperature. At 35 °C outside you'll reach 15 °C inside — too warm for beer.
Which size fits?
- 25 L – weekend trip, 1–2 people, short camping trips
- 35 L – family holiday, longer camping trips, 3–4 people, travel with medication
Both boxes run on 12 V/24 V (cigarette lighter) and on 230 V (household socket).
