The key is broken – What can I do?
- Key broken before departure
If you haven't left for your trip yet, we'll try to exchange the box, depending on availability. - Key broken during vacation
Have a replacement key made at a local locksmith. If possible, try opening or closing the roof box from the other side. Contact us for further assistance if needed. - Repair after return
We'll attempt to remove the broken key and install a new lock cylinder.
✔ Cost for the new lock cylinder: €30
In most cases, the entire locking bar needs replacement (the old bar must be drilled out, renewed, and re-riveted).
✔ Cost for locking bar replacement: €80
